"Consta de tres franjas horizontales y un triángulo, cuyo significado es el siguiente: Primera faja de color azul, representa el firmamento cubre el suelo y la laguna que embellece el municipio. Segunda faja de color amarillo, simboliza las riquezas depositadas en la laguna por el cacique Tisquesusa y también la riqueza en valores humanos que poseen sus habitantes. Tercera faja de color verde, la fertilidad de sus tierras y sus abundantes cosechas."
