"BANDERA DISEÑADA POR EL LICENCIADO JOSE ANTONIO HERNANDEZ LUNA. El Pendón bicolor, son dos franjas horizontales : La franja superior de color amarillo (oro), símbolo de las riquezas que adornan el subsuelo de la noble tierra de Vergara. El Color verde de la franja inferior representa la fertilidad de los campos en donde la bondad de la tierra hace de esta la madre de la producción. Todo lo que siembre el campesino de Vergara, dará fruto porque así lo determina la Madre naturaleza el hada madrina de la comarca. La bandera llevará en su centro el escudo de Vergara y será izada en los actos más solemnes de la vida del municipio."
