Usage

This infobox is to be used for lacrosse players. Suggestions on change should be noted in the talk page. This infobox is based on Template:Infobox ice hockey player.

You must enter fields exactly as shown below (ie: letter case matters!). Please follow the guidelines provided in parenthesis for best results:

Required Fields

None (All fields are optional)

Optional Fields

Failure to fill in data for any of the following fields WILL delete that field from the infobox

• gender (use "m" for males or "f" for females)
• position
• height_ft
• height_in

both height_ft and height_in required for either to work

• weight_lbs
• nationality

(correctly spell the name of the country. DO NOT WIKIFY THE COUNTRY NAMES. The country template will not take over if you add [[ ]] around the country name)

• nationality_2

(if a player has dual citizenship)

• birth_date
• birth_place

(city, then comma, then state/province)

• name (defaults to the pagename)
• shoots
• image (filename; e.g. "Example.jpg")
• image_size

(width in px, default is 200px. Try to use 230px, if image is too pixelated upon article preview, resize it to the file's actual size. Include the "px")

• nickname
• death_date
• death_place
• career_start

(first pro year)

• career_end (year)
• coach

use this if the player has also coached at the NCAA, MLL, or NLL level (see Tony Resch for example) This should imply head coach, otherwise please note.

• website

the player's official website. Please don't use for team websites, league website, etc. Enter as a plain text, i.e. example.com

• career_highlights

highlights of the player's career

• uslaxhof

(enter profile id# from: uslacrosse.org (see Frank Urso)

• uslaxhof_year

(enter year inducted)

• canlaxhof

(enter year inducted)

• nllhof

(enter year inducted)

• nll_draft
• nll_draft_year
• nll_draft_team

Teams:

• nll_team

use this if the player plays in the NLL. If you use this, don't use team or league.

• former_nll_teams

(Please a <br> after each team, so each new team starts on a new line. ie: enter [[Toronto Rock]]<br> [[Philadelphia Wings]]<br> [[Buffalo Bandits]])

• mll_team

use this if the player plays in the MLL. If you use this, don't use team or league.

• former_mll_teams
• team

(current team the player plays for that is not an NLL or MLL team. Enter FULL NAME of team and [[wiki link]])

• league

(use abbreviation. ie: [[Western Lacrosse Association|WLA]] or [[Major Series Lacrosse|MSL]])

These fields are still supported, but should no longer be used when referring to NLL or MLL. They can still be used for other leagues

Microformat

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the person's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book or database. For more information about the use of microformats on Wikipedia, please see the microformat project.

Sub-templates

Date-of-birth ("bday") information will only be included in the microformat if {{birth date}}, or {{birth date and age}} are used in the infobox. (Do not use these if the date is before 1583). Be cautious about using these if the person is still living, per WP:DOB.

To include a URL, use {{URL}}.

Please do not remove instances of these sub-templates.
